Please read carefully as these rules supercede previous rules. The main rules page has also been updated.
TOSS FOR BREAK
Each game the referee will toss a coin to decide who will break. The home team player will call heads or tails.
A BALL MUST HIT A CUSHION
After the cue ball has made contact with an object ball, at least one ball MUST hit a cushion except when a ball is potted. Failure to do so will result in a foul being called.
If a player is totally snookered, he/she must call “Total” which must be confirmed by the referee. The player will then NOT need to hit a cushion after contact with an object ball.
ONE SHOT AFTER A FOUL BREAK
If a player fouls from the break, a foul will be called, but his/her opponent will only be awarded 1 shot unless a ball leaves the table from the break, in which case he/she will be awarded 2 shots. In either case, the player coming to the table will be entitled to move the cue ball anywhere behind the baulk line.
REQUIREMENTS TO MAKE UP A TEAM
You still need 4 players to enter a team into the league, though you will now be able to attend a match with a minimum of 3 players.
LEAGUE GAMES
The format of league games is changing. There will now be 10 singles games, and there will be no doubles games. With this in mind, each player can play a maximum of 3 games per match. (therefore if you turn up with 3 players, you can still win 9 games and give 1 away).
CUP GAMES
The following Cup games will be arranged throughout the season:
Team Knockout Cup & Subsidiary Cup
Captains Cup (MUST be the nominated Captain from the entry form)
Doubles and Singles Cups will now be open to anyone in the league and no longer limited to one player/doubles team per competition. However, ANY player must have played at least 1 league game to be eligible for these cup games. Registration for these events will be requested at a later date.
FINES
Fines will be in the form of penalty points which will be as follows:
Late Card, No show without 24 hour notice, No show with notice, No show to cup game
Any of the above will result in a 1 point penalty deducted from your league points.
(A maximum of 1 point per week may be deducted – not 1 point per misdemeanor).
GOODWILL GESTURES
It is a gesture of good sportsmanship and fair play to offer your opponent a drink if you are beaten.
A gesture of goodwill should be offered to any venue you fail to show at without giving 24 hours notice. We recommend that £5 is a reasonable amount. As any reverse leg is played at the original venue this gesture can be shown at that point. |
