The following games need to be arranged during the course of this half of the league.

I appreciate the change of venue etc. for the Loddon Swan A team has caused most of these, but they still need to be played - so it is down to the individual teams to sort out dates to play.

Well after the first leg closely run win for the Butchers B Team by 6 games to 4 over the Caxton Arms, it was certain to be a great final.

The Butchers B had managed to get 6-2 ahead in the first leg, only to lose both doubles resulting in a 6-4 lead to take into the second leg.

A Tension filled second leg saw the Caxton Arms fight back to level the match at 6 each, then went ahead 10-7. As the Butchers lined up the last singles game, Spud Broke off and Butchers Captain Sean Stock sat down expecting an 8 ball clearance to follow as the balls were spread perfectly, with just a couple of awkward shots.

Spud cleared up down to the last red which he potted, but left himself an agonisingly positioned white, just half an inch more would have left a shot on an easy Black, but one yellow came to the Butchers B teams rescue!

Sean stepped up and played some cagey pool to gain 2 shots, only to see spud get out of each snooker - though one mistake gave sean the opportunity to get down and clear up some difficult balls.

So 10-8, needing both doubles for the tie, the Butchers B gave there all to claim the last two games, neither game was easy as the Caxton played some excellent shots.

10 all, and names were randomly drawn for a showdown. Both Captains muttered "oh no" as the names were drawn as Frank Bew (caxton) and Richard Thorpe (Butchers).

Frank Bew, who's form had been touch and go earlier in the evening won the toss and broke. Richard's extra shot of vodka didn't seem to be helping as his potting had gone south, and Frank seemed to be holding his own. A mistake by Richard gave Frank 2 shots, which he made a meal of, but eventually Frank cleared the table leaving Richard with 7 balls.

A great night was had by all over both legs, and congratulations to the Caxton Arms for taking the crown of Knockout Cup Champions 2010.
